About Rumour Edit

Hi, I'm so glad you're here.

With a background in marketing, two decades of experience in the retail industry, and four years running my own small business, I’ve seen firsthand just how tough it can be to stand out especially when you're doing it all on your own.

I created Rumour Edit to change that.

After feeling the impact of lost collective exposure in a really tough economy and the power of a good gift guide, I decided to channel everything I’ve learned, my education, corporate know-how, small biz lessons (and let’s be honest, a good dose of courage) into building something new. Something that helps small businesses get seen, and helps shoppers discover them all in one beautiful, intentional space.

So, why the name Rumour Edit?

The name is a little playful, and a little personal. “Rumour” is a cheeky nod to our family name, an anagram of the people behind this project as well as to the idea of spreading the word. Because when it comes to great small businesses, some rumours really are worth spreading.

And “Edit”? That’s our hat-tip to the written word. We are putting together a clickable & shoppable, digital gift guide, a magazine at heart: curated, story-driven, and designed to bring together remarkable brands and makers under one event driven showcase.

The subtle touch of the dots in “Edit” represent the collective, because without everyone involved, it truly wouldn’t be a magazine.

This is our first year, and I’m so excited to see where it goes. My hope is that Rumour Edit becomes a trusted space, not just for small businesses to gain visibility, but for conscious shoppers to explore, support, and fall in love with independent brands from across Australia.

And because we’re a small business too, we can offer what the big guys can’t: we listen. We adapt. And we truly care. So if you ever have feedback, good, bad, or in-between, I’d love to hear from you. My inbox is always open monika@rumouredit.com.au

Here’s to sharing the kind of stories, gifts, and brands worth whispering about.
